I'm a Christian, married to my wonderful husband, Adrian, since 1978 (where has the time gone?). We have two children, Michael and Elizabeth who are just the best children we could have wished for, we're so blessed, and proud of them. Michael and Aisling, our daughter in law, have a daughter Bronwyne Ann. Elizabeth is married to Martyn. I use my crafting to raise funds for various charities. The charity that I'm currently sponsoring is Save The Children
For the past 10 years I have donated money from the sale of my cards and cross-stitch to a few different charities. This worked well until my sales started to diminish as more and more people started to make cards. I used to be the only one at a couple of local church fairs but now there are about 5-6 each time. Makes it difficult to sell my cards when others are selling theirs three for a pound!
When we go on holiday to Scarborough we attend Scarborough Christian Fellowship. A couple that attend are the forefront of Bethel House Boy's Orphanage in India.
Their website is http://www.steppingstonesministries.co.uk/ They rely 100% on public donation and travel around to different churches to raise the awareness of the orphanage and to try and get more sponsors. Last year I decided that instead of giving what little funds I was getting from selling the cards to give them directly to Tracey and Richard so they could have a little "shop" to take with them and that way they would get more income than I could give cash-wise. I'm branching out from just cards into stationery sets, notebooks (with my lovely Bind-it-All machine), small cross-stitch pictures and calendars to mention just a few.
Here's a picture of some of the journals that I made last year
Hi to anyone who actually reads this lol I don't know if I have much to share with the blogging community but I'll give it my best shot.
I'm an avid crafter who has to have at least one project on the go at all times. At the moment I'm working on four projects. A cross-stitch picture called The Guardian, a couple of family birthday cards, knitting baby clothes for my daughter's friend and working on some wooden shapes to provide tutorials forhttp://www.craftshapes.co.uk/I'll post some pictures of projects I have done in the past to get myself in the routine of blog posting.
